We have designed this website not only for new customers but also for customers coming to holiday in the area and to let you see what we have to offer.

Sour Nook Inn and Restaurant has lots of charm and character to offer, situated in the heart of rural beauty nestled next to the Cumbrian hills on the edge of the lake district where nothing could be more relaxing than surrounded by green fields, hills, sheep and cattle in a busy farming community,
This local pub dates back to at least the 1800’s when it was firstly a Court House and then became a coaching inn and still has lots of Character to offer customers from its open fires - excellent traditional home cooked food - hospitality and a long way from the hustle and bustle of the big cities, we are graced with lots of self catering and B & B accommodation close by so you will never be stuck for somewhere to stay.

 

Sour Nook has fast gained an excellent reputation for its food (we constantly have right ups in local press and via the Internet) for our Traditional Home Made Food and lots of it ! and of course not forgetting our Traditional Home Made Desserts to include favourites like Sticky Toffee Pudding with its hot butterscotch sauce, its to die for, and our Pear Suprise all which are made to our own recipes and which are sold out nearly every weekend (check out our menu page), with our vast main menu choices / specials board changing every weekend to offer even more homemade dishes/ Excellent fine wines to complement your meal you will be spoiled for choice, catering for pensioners and vegetarians.
